![]() Creating the Jewelry |
Heather chooses her stones carefully, avoiding stones that have been dyed or treated in any way. (Generally, the only exception to this rule is turquoise, which often needs to be stabilized before it can be cut and polished.) She also avoids stones that are holding strong negative energy.
Before working with the stones, Heather cleanses them both physically and energetically. The first step is to wash them with a mild soap and then rinse them thoroughly, removing any residue remaining from the cutting and polishing process. Next, Heather clears the stones with Reiki, removing any negative energy that the stones may have absorbed during mining and cutting, and then filling them with healing white light. She may also set certain stones in sunshine or moonlight for a while, to further clean and charge them.
When she selects the stones and metals for a piece of jewelry, Heather continues to work within the Reiki, allowing it to guide her choices along with her visual sense of what the piece needs. Subtly different color combinations can produce strikingly different energetic results! Some stones complement each other; some clash. Sometimes one stone can strengthen and enhance the essential properties of another.
Next comes the best part – actually making the piece! This can be a deeply meditative process; Heather often finds that her hands tingle with Reiki throughout the creation of a piece.
Once the piece is finished, Heather washes it and then clears it with Reiki once more. The Reiki guides her again, either simply filling the piece with healing light, or tuning it as a healing tool. If you request it, Heather will gladly ask the Reiki to tune the piece to address your individual needs, or the needs of the individual who will be receiving the piece.
